Our Story

Integrated Community (CIIC) was formalized in 2004, but its roots began earlier, when immigrants in Northwest Colorado started gathering in a local bookstore for English conversation groups. It was one of the only places Spanish-speaking residents could connect, learn, and help each other navigate unfamiliar systems.

In response to these emerging needs, over 75 community members, including immigrant representatives, government officials, healthcare providers, nonprofit leaders, and neighbors, came together to listen, share, and prioritize solutions.

One need rose above the rest: without language support and system navigation, families could not access education, medical care, or legal help.

Growing Together

Out of that urgency, our first programs were born: Interpretation, Education Resources, and Community Navigation. Since then, CIIC has grown the way communities grow: organically, and in response to the lives around us.

When families needed school readiness, we created Listo Para Kinder. When parents wanted to foster literacy at home, we launched Raising a Reader. Every program has been shaped by the voices of the people we serve and strengthened by partnerships with schools, libraries, legal providers, and health systems.

Present and Future

Today, CIIC is the trusted hub for immigrant communities in Routt, Moffat, and surrounding counties. Our bilingual, bicultural team provides care coordination, early childhood education, legal navigation, and community connection, always grounded in the belief that when newcomers are welcomed and supported, the whole community thrives.

We envision a future where Northwest Colorado is a place of opportunity for all: a united community where immigrants and long-term residents learn from one another, participate fully, and feel a deep sense of belonging.
