Community Navigator

Integrated Community (CIIC) assists and supports immigrants as they integrate, contribute, and maintain their independence in Northwest Colorado. We are the only BIPOC-led, BIPOC-serving nonprofit across Routt and Moffat Counties, and we believe that in community, everyone belongs.

Job Summary

‍

The Community Navigator supports community members by providing immediate assistance, promoting self-sufficiency, and connecting people to available resources. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate resource databases, assisting with program operations, and supporting CIIC's strategic goals of expanding reach, engaging the community, and systematizing operations.

Each day the Community Navigator may meet with 4–10 community members. Cases range from quick referrals to complex, in-depth needs β€” anything from a 30-minute appointment to help renew a license to multifaceted situations requiring extensive research, logistics, and coordination.

This job description provides a general overview of responsibilities at this time. At CIIC, employment is based on the dynamic needs of our community and operations. Specific time allocations may evolve based on organizational needs. Updates are made annually with quarterly reviews.

Key Responsibilities

‍

Engaging Community Members Β (75%)

‍

Community Navigator Program (70%)

  • Assist community members with navigation needs and/or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Assist community members with navigation needs and/or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Provide non-English-speaking community members with relief from immediate and short-term hardships.
  • Promote self-sufficiency among non-English-speaking community members by offering guidance and support.
  • Work scheduled office hours and greet all guests.
  • Assist with sight translations and informal interpretations when needed.
  • Update the Resource, Client, and Provider Databases to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Immigration Program Support (5%)

  • Schedule appointments for immigration services with DOJ Accredited staff members.
  • Assist immigration pro bono attorneys and DOJ accredited representatives as directed.

Expanding Reach Β (10%)

  • Engage with existing networks to expand program reach and improve access to services.
  • Support outreach activities such as attending community events and collaborating with partners.

Systematizing Operations Β (5%)

  • Maintain the Community Navigation resource database and document workflows.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to adopt and implement best practices for community member services.

General Organization Operations Β (10%)

  • Participate in organization-wide activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Other non-recurring tasks such as audits and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

‍

Required

  • Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, confidentiality, credibility, and a genuine commitment to CIIC's mission.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work compassionately and inclusively with people from diverse socioeconomic, racial, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-interaction environment.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and database systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in community navigation, social services, or direct client services.
  • Familiarity with immigrant services, legal resources, or health and human services in Northwest Colorado.
  • Interpretation or translation experience (CIIC will provide training and guide employees toward certification).

Compensation and Schedule

‍

Starting wage is $24.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience. CIIC conducts annual performance reviews with merit-based compensation consideration. Part-time employees accrue paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA) and are eligible for FAMLI leave.

Hours are 20–30 per week with a flexible schedule. CIIC is a child-friendly and pet-friendly office environment committed to work-life balance.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the compensation range for this position is $24.00–$28.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
